The design of this cottage evokes the casual eclectic style of Maine coastal architecture. The first floor layout affords a dramatic view through to the ocean upon entering the front door, with a discrete side door offering a short cut to the Boot Room and Kitchen. Even the windows on the first floor were designed so that the meeting rails were above eye level so as not to interrupt the view. This seasonal home and carriage house features brightly painted wood interiors and furnishings. Numerous multipurpose rooms open to each other, built-ins, and nooks and crannies add visual interest; thus adding historic charm as well as a timeless character. Exposed Douglas fir structural timbers compliment the cozy cottage atmosphere.
