Woodland Abode

Georgetown, Maine

Influenced by traditional Japanese design, the plan affords multiple intriguing and surprising glimpses to the outdoors. The moon gate and anteroom demarcate transition to the first-floor master suite. The line of the tapered stone foundation sweeps upward from the site’s rock ledges to blend with rustic, weathered shingles.

Rendered in local stone, red cedar, and durable copper, this home’s exterior blends with its natural surroundings.
